Dr. Albert Reyes, President of Baptist University of The Americas joins NHCLC National Board of Directors.

One of America's leading Latino Christian leaders joins the Nations leading Evangelical organization, the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. "We are honored and pleased to welcome Dr. Albert Reyes to the National Leadership Board for the Hispanic Evangelical Church. Dr. Reyes is a highly recognized Top Tier leader in the Latino Church. His academic experience and commitment to education will enhance the spiritual and intellectual capital of the Latino Evangelical Community.", stated Rev. Felix Posos, NHCLC Chairman. "Rev. Reyes is recognized as one of the senior Hispanic Baptist leaders in America and will provide viable representation on behalf of the Hispanic Baptists to the growing evangelical church", stated Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, NHCLC President. Dr. Reyes will serve alongside the most prominent Hispanic Evangelical leaders in America including Hno. Pablo (Paul Finkendbinder), Rev. Felix Posos, Dr. Sergio Navarrette, Dr. Gilbert Velez, Dr. Angel Nuñez, Dr. David Espinoza and many others.

Albert Reyes is President of Baptist University of the Américas in San Antonio, Texas and immediate past President of the Baptist General Convention of Texas .

Dr. Reyes is Assistant Professor of Leadership and Biblical/Theological Studies at Baptist University of the Americas and Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Leadership in the Gary Cook Graduate School of Leadership and Christian Education at Dallas Baptist University .

He was appointed as Chair of the Hispanic Task Force for the White House Initiative for Academic Excellence with the US Department of Education.

Dr. Reyes is the inaugural awardee of the George W. Truett Award for Excellence in Ministry for a Singular Achievement awarded by Baylor University and the Baptist Standard. In addition, he received a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Dallas Baptist University .

He holds a BBA, M.Div., D.Min. degrees from Angelo State University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is enrolled in the PhD Leadership program at Andrews University. Albert is married to Dr. Belinda Reyes, Research Assistant at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. The Reyes’ have three boys: Joshua, David, and Thomas.

In addition to serving in the Leadership Committee, Dr. Reyes will represent the Hispanic Baptists on the National Board.
