Dr. Gus Reyes serves as the Director of the Hispanic Education Initiative/Affinity Ministries for the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He moved to this position after serving as the Director of the Service Center. He served as ethnic consultant for the Center of Strategic Evangelism. During his service as ethnic consultant several evangelistic events experienced record attendance of over 3,700 at the 2004 Hispanic Youth and Singles Congreso, and over 3,000 in attendance at the 2004 Hispanic Evangelism Conference. A 25-year youth ministry veteran, Reyes also serves as bi-vocational Pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista, Dallas, Texas. He is the co-writer with Dr. Richard Ross of "30 Days, Turning the Hearts of Parents and Teens towards Each Other." He served as Youth Ministry Consultant, then, Director of Church Growth Group Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service departments at LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville, Tennessee from 1987-2001 Reyes holds a BBA from UT-Austin, an MBA from Angelo State University, and MRE, PhD degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Reyes and his wife Leticia of 30+ years have three children, Andrea, Agustin II, and Samuel.
